🎻 WILDCATS TAKE THE STAGE // Our talented student musicians proudly represented MASH at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Central Region Orchestra Festival, held earlier this month at Williamsport Area High School. Bringing together top student musicians from across Districts 7 and 8, the weekend was filled with powerful performances, collaboration, and unforgettable music under the direction of Dr. Soo Han of George Mason University.

Earning a spot at this level is a remarkable achievement, and we couldn’t be more proud of these outstanding Wildcats:

🎤 STATE STAGE SUCCESS // Nine Wildcats from MASH recently took their talents to the Pennsylvania High School Speech League (PHSSL) State Speech & Debate Tournament at Commonwealth University, Bloomsburg, joining 678 students from 72 schools across the state in an impressive showcase of skill and determination.

👏 A special congratulations to senior Aiden Pinsker, who advanced to the semifinals in Extemporaneous Speaking, earning a place among the top 12 competitors in his event.

💬 We are proud of all of our student participants for representing MASH with confidence and excellence:
Chelsea Guan and Ayten Eldib (Public Forum Debate), Allison Shute (Impromptu Speaking), Chloe Luft-Hoover and Kaylee Witters (Public Forum Debate), Emily Jogi and Jenny Zemane (News Broadcasting), and Sanjith Ayela (Extemporaneous Debate).

Every Friday, she leads her signature High Five Friday, greeting students between classes with high fives, smiles, and words of encouragement that help them head into the weekend feeling seen and supported.

It may seem like a small gesture, but those quick moments of connection leave a lasting impact. Tara’s commitment to building belonging and brightening someone’s day is just one of the many ways she makes MASH stronger.

🔎 EXPLORING FUTURE PATHWAYS // Recently, some of our future-focused Wildcats at Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School stepped beyond the classroom to explore careers in both the military and legal fields.

Students connected with members of the PA Army National Guard to learn about field artillery roles, engineering support careers, and both college and non-college pathways. Another group attended a Law & Corrections career exploration event, speaking with state representatives, state troopers, attorneys, and law professors about careers in law and law enforcement.

Real conversations. Real professionals. Real-world possibilities. Real connections.

🛍️ GET YOUR WILDCAT MERCH // Your new go-to spot for Wildcat gear is officially open.

Run by student volunteers and coordinated through our Athletic Department, the school store at Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School offers Wildcats a chance to build real-world skills while helping our school community show their pride.

COMMUNITY HOURS: The store is open during select hours throughout the school day for students and staff, and the community is invited to stop by beginning at 5:30 p.m. this Thursday, 2/26/26, to grab Wildcat merch before heading into opening night of the spring musical, Hello, Dolly! 🎳🥈 ROLLING INTO SUCCESS // Congratulations to MASH's Jackson Coy, who bowled his way to an outstanding second-place finish at the PIAA District 3 Championships over the weekend. Frame by frame, he showed skill, focus, and determination, all the while making our Wildcat community proud.

❄️ TWO-HOUR DELAY // Tomorrow, Monday, February 23, 2026, Mechanicsburg Area School District will operate on a two-hour delay schedule. 🎻 MAKING BEAUTIFUL MUSIC // Congratulations to our MASH Orchestra students who recently participated in the PMEA District Orchestra Festival at Dallastown High School.

During the festival, Wildcats collaborated with talented musicians from across South Central Pennsylvania, working alongside collegiate-level guest conductors and culminating in an incredible concert experience.

🏆💡 TSA SUCCESS // Congratulations to our Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School Technology Student Association (TSA) members on a strong showing at their recent regional competition.

Our students earned multiple top-10 finishes across a wide range of engineering, design, and technology events — a reflection of their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, as well as their future-focused mindset. Through hands-on innovation and real-world challenges, these Wildcats are building the skills that will shape tomorrow.

We’re proud of our TSA members for representing MASD so well and showcasing what Wildcat innovation is all about.

🧦 HEY MEAGHAN, YOU KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF // Always looking for creative ways to engage students, Meaghan Sabatini, MASH librarian, introduced a once-per-cycle board game program during study halls—bringing students together in the library to connect, collaborate, and have fun. The goal is simple but powerful: build community, encourage teamwork, and spark creativity.

When Dr. Bitz stopped by, Mrs. Sabatini was right there with students—playing games, sharing laughs, and helping make the library a welcoming space that extends far beyond academics.

That kind of care, creativity, and connection truly Knocked Our Socks Off. 💜🧦

❄️ TWO-HOUR DELAY, 1/29/26 and 1/30/26 // Mechanicsburg Area School District will operate on a two-hour delay schedule on Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30, 2026. Based on several factors—including cold temperatures, the need to navigate snow piles, and the benefits of increased daylight—a delay was the best decision for our students.

Thank you for your patience as we work our way back to a normal school schedule.

🧦 HEY COACH, YOU KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF // On this chilly Wednesday, we thought we'd warm your heart with a bonus You Knocked Our Socks Off celebration. When our 9th grade boys basketball team needed a coach just before the season tipped off, Coach Steve Laudenslager didn’t hesitate. Coming out of “coaching retirement,” he stepped in to lead, support, and guide our student-athletes when they needed it most.

His willingness to answer the call and ensure our team was ready to compete truly Knocked Our Socks Off. Our Wildcats are lucky to have you, Coach! 🏀🐾

❄️💪 A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR MAINTENANCE & FACILITIES CREWS // Through heavy snowfall and challenging temperatures, our dedicated maintenance and facilities teams have been hard at work clearing parking lots, roads, and sidewalks to ensure our buildings and campuses are safe and ready for the return of our students and staff. They’ll be back at it again today for another round of winter weather cleanup.

Your long hours, teamwork, and commitment do not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful for all you do behind the scenes to keep our Wildcat community moving, no matter the weather. THANK YOU. 💜

❄️ CLOSED // All Mechanicsburg Area School District schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. This will be a traditional snow day with no makeup day needed.

Our Facilities Department and local municipalities did an amazing job today, as they worked tirelessly to clear roads, sidewalks, and parking lots throughout the district. Unfortunately, there are still a few trouble spots out there that we'll hopefully see cleared up tomorrow.
